​DAY 1 – Monday 1 April 2024 – Houston

Our tour begins with a welcome dinner to get everyone ready for the journey ahead. Make your own way to the hotel, with check in availble from 4pm.  Hotel ZaZa Museum District (D)

​DAY 2 – Tuesday 2 April 2024 – Houston

Houston hums with an energy all of its own. With our hotel within the museum district, we'll explore the museums of your choice, including the Burke and Baker Planetarium, Museum of Natural Sciences. The Museum District houses 19 museums, all within walking distance. This evening we undetake a fun walking and dining tour, visiting the underground tunnels of Houston and an array of local dishes.   ( (B,D)

DAY 3 – Wednesday 3 April 2024 – Houston

"Houston we have a problem..!" there are probably few statements as well known. We'll have a full day to visit the Houston Space Centre today, getting behind the scenes and the stories that make space exploration so exciting. The Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center (JSC) is NASA's center for human spaceflight (originally named the Manned Spacecraft Center), where human spaceflight training, research, and flight control are conducted. This afternoon, we travel to the George Observatory before returning to Houston in the afternoon. The day ends with a visit to the Twilight Epiphany Skyspace on the University Campus. (B)

DAY 4 – Thursday 4 April 2024 – San Antonio

We head west towards the United States popular town of San Antonio, Texas, - a colourful blend of Mexican and Texan culture.  On the way we'll take in some of the Hill Country wineries, in New Braunfels. Once we've checked in we’ll take the RiverWalk tour and discover the history and highlights of San Antonio stopping at several landmarks, history and architecture. We'll visit the Alamo - an 18th-century Franciscan mission. The site of a historic resistance effort by a small group of determined fighters for Texan independence (1836) from Mexico. (B,D)

DAY 5 – Friday 5 April 2024 – San Antonio

We’ll take a road trip out of San Antonio today visiting the natural beauties in Fredericksburg; and cowboys in Bandera - the Cowboy Capital of the World.  To make it a truly Texan experience theres opportunity to head into the Cowboy shops, or out on the trail with a horse ride, before dinner and some stargazing under the wonderful dark skies at Enchanting Rock National Park. Renowned for its massive pink granite dome rising above Central Texas, the scenery, rock formations and legends are magical.  We return late that evening to San Antonio. (B,D)

DAY 6 – Saturday 6 April 2024 – San Antonio

Making our way south, we'll visit the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site preserving four of the five Spanish frontier missions. Remains of 18th-century Spanish structures dot the city, contrasting with modern office buildings, drawn together by the  The evening is free for you to find the best rib, Tex-Mex, Brazilian or Steak restaurant. (B)

DAY 7 – Sunday 7 April 2024 – Dallas

Departing early we'll board an early train and travel the distance with Amtrack to Austin. Arriving into town, we'll meet our guides who will transfer us around the vibrant mural art scene. There are dozens of super creative murals all around Austin and we got a chance to see a few of them . We'll depart late for our hotel in Dallas - the Drey Hotel. (B)

DAY 8 – Monday 8 April 2024 – Dallas

Wahoo - Eclipse day! You have the choice of spending the day at our conveniently located hotel for a 3.30 min eclipse. Spend the morning relaxing by the pool, take a walk or sleep in before watching the big event. Or drive to Ennis where you can experience genuine Texan Hospitality in a Winery and a whopping 4.26mins of eclipse directly on the centre line. . After an early morning start we will raise a glass to the moon.  Lunch drinks and eclipse glasses will be included wherever you chose to view the eclipse.(B,L,D)

DAY 9 – Tuesday 9 April 2024 – Orlando Florida or home

Choose to travel home from here by finishing the Texan part of the tour.

Alternatively head back towards Dallas for our flight to Orlando after lunch (*not included) we'll reach the sunny state early evening. We have two nights booked at the Hilton Hotel Cocoa Beach (B,D)

DAY 10 - Wednesday 10 April 2024– Orlando Florida

Today we get entry to Cape Canaveral the home of space flight. Since December 1968, KSC has been NASA's primary launch centre of human spaceflight including launch operations for the Apollo, Skylab and Space Shuttle programs. With so many projects going into space now... we may even see a launch. No visit to Florida is complete without a visit to Disneyworld. Children of every age love it! Our big day out ends with rides, fun and dinner in this famous park.(B)

DAY 11 - Thursday 11 April 2024– Orlando Florida

Every great journey must come to an end.  Transport will be provided to meet flights after 12pm. (B)

Participants travelling on the Maple Glow Tour will arrive into Houston off flight UA750 - departing Calgary at 13.55 arrive Houston at 19:00 on 1 April.

If the minimum numbers (16 pax) are not met prior to 1 October 2023, alternative travel arrangements may be made, however in the instance that this is not possible, the tour may be cancelled. and your deposit returned. Please note twin rooms are based on two co-travellers sharing a room - if you choose this option as a single traveller, you may be required to pay the full supplement in the event no other single traveller wishes to share.
